Thank Goodness for Breakfast
Hello. My name is Pono and I want to be a skinnyaire. Last night was quite a night. I feel miserable today because I missed going on my walk last night. The night air was cool with a slight breeze that made it the perfect night for a walk or jog. All of that changed in a matter of half an hour when I stepped outside again and the air was filled with the smell of smoke; a result of the massive brush fires sweeping across Texas with reckless abandon. I suffer from Asthma so am inclined to stay indoors when the air quality is really bad, bad like San Bernardino county when Los Angeles decides to share its smog and blows over into the valley, bad. So, last night I was caught up with the news on the fires and if they had reached us yet. By the time I looked up, it was nearly midnight and I did not work out. Another disappointing day gone, a day never to be done over again, a workout lost in the depths of my memories to be replayed over and over with disappointing redundancy.
I woke up this morning still mad at myself for not doing something last night indoors to get my heart rate up. Through the disappointment and sadness of my lack of effort last night, I did have something to look forward to for breakfast. My wife and I attempted our very first homemade yogurt. WoW! We pulled it from the fridge and it had solidified to the consistency of yogurt! Ahhhh, the sweet smell of success in the morning is truly invigorating! But alas, it needed one final test. The dreaded taste test! It was plain yogurt so we decided to add some honey and strawberries to each individual bowl.

Since it was such a success we will be experimenting with tastes and textures more, so we will share our results as they happen. I usually eat roughly 30g of protein in the morning within 30 minutes of waking up which is something I learned on the Dr. Oz show. Eating 30g of protein in the morning 30 minutes from waking up allows the body to burn more efficiently throughout the day and allow you to burn more calories. Thirty grams of protein is equivalent to five eggs in the morning. Eggs are a great source of protein but you can get your protein from many other sources besides eggs.
